You’ll buy me a poster of the “Periodic Table of Elephants.”

my old guy crushes
By “old” I mean guys who it would be wildly inappropriate for me to have relations with as a result of our respective ages.
Also, there are probably more but these will do.
John Corbett (age 50)
Anderson Cooper (age 44)
George Clooney (age 50)
Jean Dujardin (age 39)

thoughts on the oscars
Billy Crystal is wonderful and did a great job as host. If you are too jaded by inappropriate humor that you cannot appreciate the simple humor, that’s your problem.
Penelope Cruz looked absolutely beautiful and if you think she looked “boring” you are, once again, jaded.
Edit: Oh yeah! And another thing! I thought it was pretty interesting that Jennifer Lopez would state the wonderful Edith...

valentine's day
So, yesterday I lost my keys and had to trek across campus looking for them and miss work. My dad had to come get me AND drive me to class this morning. Anyway, I went to the Dean of Education’s office this morning and not only did they have my keys, they gave me a delicious Valentine’s Day cookie! It was wonderful! And I eternally grateful to Moomaw for giving me a Woody (from Toy...

So, there is this fellow in my theater class who is always in some sort of character (I refuse to believe he’s not trying to act that way) and it is getting pretty old. Everyone agrees and the room gets tense whenever he begins to speak. Well, today, my friend noticed that he had a silver band on his left ring finger and we really want to know if he’s married…and who the lucky...

I just realized that I’ve never posted the fact that there is an education professor at my school named Mohammed Ali.

sticky
Me: I just had to watch a whole section of this orientation on bubbles.
Garrett: Bubbles?
Me: How many different subject areas you can teach with bubbles.
Garrett: Shoot! Cells. Open and closed spaces. Air. Sticky.
Me: Sticky? Is that a subject area?
Garrett: Sticky.

I just experienced that awkward moment when you find yourself sitting next to the guy who you only remember from high school because he was notorious for doing inappropriate things under his desk during class…
I am super uncomfortable and hope that never happens again.

encouragement
It is written:
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” - John 15:18-19

dutto25:
Today some of the students in my 2nd period class showed me this video. It is called “Teach Me How to Study” a parody of “Teach Me How to Dougie”. After watching it in 2nd, word got around and we ended up watching it in my 3rd and 4th period classes too. The kids loved it and started doing the dance. They tried to teach me however I am extremely white and a terrible dancer.
Enjoy the...

theory
I can’t speak for all majors, but this is a theory I have developed after having observed people in my education classes:
If you find yourself referring to others in your major as “over-achievers” when they do beyond what was required of them, you might need to reevaluate your choice of career path. Their desire to exceed the necessary is an exceptional attribute and shows their...

Your psychology professor says:
“Fortunately it is a rare case, but in the instance of a child being locked in a closet for years, one could conduct a case study…”
And you immediately think:
“Or the child could be accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”

Garrett and I saw Tin Tin tonight in 3-D and it was incredible! Such a wonderful movie, and beautiful, too. Try to see it before it leaves theaters because it’s definitely worth the big screen price and experience. :)
